Through these school leadership consortia, McREL brings together school leadership teams from across a state, region, or district to provide them with ongoing professional development through a series of knowledge- and skills-building workshops. In addition, McREL's expert consultants develop the capacity of a cadre of local mentors to provide ongoing support to participants between workshop sessions. Consortia sponsors can include state, intermediate, or local education agencies, foundations, or professional associations. Through these consortia, McREL provides- ten 2-day workshops provided by a team of experts
- resource materials and ongoing online support
- consultation on how to lead local school improvement efforts
- site visits from local mentors trained by McREL consultants
- a rigorous evaluation study documenting impact of consortia
