McREL: Turning what works in teaching, leading, and learning into innovation and results

McREL Reports for Stupski Foundation's Learning System

Product Description  If we could build a new system of education from scratch, what would it look like?

This is the guiding question behind this series of eight research reports.

In 2009, the Stupski Foundation, which is focused on supporting the "fundamental reinvention" of the American system of public education into one that prepares all children for the challenges of life, career, and citizenship in the 21st century, tasked McREL with reviewing education research on several critical components of the current education system.

The result of this effort is a series of reports that review relevant research and offer recommendations for re-inventing the public education system.
Key Ideas
The underlying premise of this effort, as stated by Stupski Foundation, is that "The basic components of what public education systems need to teach all students to world-class standards, particularly those students for whom public schools are their only option, do not exist in any coherent, accessible, or evidence-based way."

Accordingly, these reports attempt to offer a new, research-based vision for re-inventing public education so that it better serves the needs of all students.
