Goals/Objectives  Participants will
  • Understand how to recognize each child's unique "window of opportunity" for learning
  • Discuss a variety of current issues in early childhood development, early literacy, and early mathematics learning
  • Identify the most efffective teaching strategies to use with preschool children
Description  Participants will learn about multiple components of school readiness: from early literacy and mathematics concepts and skills to self-regulation and focused attention. Classroom instructional strategies to promote school readiness will be discussed along with the ways to engage families in preparing children for kindergarten.
