| This is a professional development model in which McREL's mathematics and science team facilitate teachers’ growth in mathematics content-area understanding while guiding their use of a process for creating alignment among pertinent standards, curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Our team shares a standards-based alignment process that allows educators to understand the mathematics content of critical standards and benchmarks, to identify supportive instructional materials and practices, and to select appropriate assessments to document student success in attaining the standards. Typically, participants in this alignment process devote considerable time to it over the length of an entire school year. |
