McREL: Turning what works in teaching, leading, and learning into innovation and results

Out-of-School-Time Program Evaluation Services

Goals/Objectives  Research from McREL and its partners in the National Partnership for Quality Afterschool Learning shows that well designed afterschool programs can boost student academic performance while supporting the development of the whole child.
Description  Based on this research and practical insights gleaned from successful afterschool programs across the nation, McREL can help your school or district analyze and evaluate your afterschool programs to determine the extent to which they:
  • Offer academic enrichment to raise student achievement,

  • Apply best practices of youth development, and

  • Attract, engage, and retain students, including older youth.

We work with you to custom design an evaluation study that meets the specific needs of your district. We can analyze your existing data or collect new information (qualitative, quantitative or both, depending on your needs) to deliver a well researched, reader-friendly report that offers incisive insights and practical guidance for moving forward.
