Permission to copy and distribute materials
All publications of McREL are protected by U.S. Copyright Law and, unless otherwise noted, owned or controlled by McREL. The materials provided are solely for personal, educational, and informational use. However, in two situations, limited permission is granted for educators associated with a school or district:
- Within their school or district, educators may distribute up to 10 copies of a downloadable document for professional development activities. Materials may not be modified, altered, or edited in any way. The document must retain all authorship, publisher, and copyright information. The copies must be distributed free of charge.
- Within their school or district, educators may distribute up to 10 copies of a book chapter for professional development activities. Copies must include the title page, the page after the title page, and the table of contents with each copied set. Each page must be marked “Reprinted with permission of McREL.”
Copyright permissions for print and e-coursepacks, interlibrary loan, and general business distribution are handled by the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC). Contact CCC via its website, by phone at 978.750.8400, or by fax at 978.750.4470.
Permission to reprint
Permission to reprint figures, tables, images, or articles in another publication must be placed through the Copyright Clearance Center. Contact CCC via its website, by phone at 978.750.8400, or by fax at 978.750.4470.

When linking to McREL documents, link to the HTML product page (e.g., http://www.mcrel.org/topics/products/428/). Before posting papers on other websites, contact McREL for approval.
